Opera, teoretic Nationala, din Washington, este fieful lui Placido Domingo. Partea pozitiva este ca il are pe unul din cei mai mari cantareti din toate timpurile - desi pana la urma Domingo canta mai mult tot la Opera "Metropolitan". Tot la capitolul "pozitiv" trebuie mentionata cresterea bugetului si recrutarea unor cantareti (din pacate, cu putine exceptii, nu si dirijori) de prima mana: Juan Diego Florez, Matti Salminen, Jose Carreras, Renee Fleming, etc. Partea mai putin buna este ca nu de putine...
